Todd Marcellini is the founder and lead tuner of Motion Lab, LLC. He established Motion Lab in February 2009 on the premise of value added services and parts sales for Subaru and EVO enthusiasts in the Southeast. He brought with him several years of experience in the automotive performance industry including professional tuning, dynamometer and parts sales dating back to 2005.
He believed that his proven skillset and a Bachelors Degree in Marketing were the perfect blend to kick-start the “Motion Lab Tuning” business model. At the time, business professionals said that the market was not suitable for such a venture but despite the naysayers, he decided to push forward with his aspirations.
Through the years, Todd has proven that Motion Lab is strong player in EFI tuning, engine building and fabrication and the company inevitably was destined to grow. Motion Lab is now staffed with a shop manager, two full-time technicians and several contractors with fabrication and transmission expertise.
In his time off, you might find Todd working on his personal cars, hitting the trails on his mountain bike, attending his son’s soccer games and traveling with his family.
Alex Goodwin Shop ManagerFacebook | This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
The role of Shop Manager at Motion Lab Tuning is a tough job. Between day-to-day sales and keeping customer projects on target, only the most ethical and diligent work habits will do. This is why Alex Goodwin has consistently hit homeruns since he came on board in early 2011. With his tenacious ability to do the right thing for the customer first, and business second, Alex has conveyed to our clients that Motion Lab has them in their best interest!
Alex has a background in retail management. While working full-time, he also worked towards a Network Technology degree that he received an AAS. After graduating, he decided that his passion for speed won over his desire to sit behind a computer all day. Motion Lab appreciates his hard work and commitment that he has brought to the company.
As the current owner of a modified 2006 Subaru STi, his personal interests are immersed in Motion Lab’s business model. In fact, we are currently building STi into a monster with our high revving signature ML600 block, extrude honed cylinder heads, 280 Kelford camshafts, GTX35R turbo and a Motion Lab fabricated turbo set up.
Motion Lab Techs
Filling the role of Technician in Motion Lab’s garage can be daunting. Each and every day the bays are opened and customer vehicles moved around, prioritizing the schedule, trips to-and-from the machinist, part runs, job research, tech support calls, being pulled off one job and asked to check on another, warranty work, cleaning and organizing tools at the end of the day, and performing routine maintenance, major build projects, light fabrication, parts installations, diagnostics and repairs.

This is why Stewart has been able to grow with Motion Lab from the beginning. He has had the ability to stick it out, good with the bad, and show devotion to customer projects. He has been an asset and is a familiar face to our long-time customers.
Stewart is a self-proclaimed EVO aficionado! This is why anyone with an Evolution (any year) should feel right at home with Motion Lab as he knows the EVO platform better than anyone. He’s had two 2003 (yes, x2) EVO VIII’s and currently owns one of them, one 2006 EVO IX, and one ridiculous 2008 EVO X that Motion Lab has tuned with a built motor, FP Black, 2000cc injectors and the list goes on and on. The “X” currently puts down close to 600whp on E85.
When he’s not at work, he can be found at the beach with his family or riding four-wheelers with friends.
Chris Speis TechnicianFacebook | This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
Meet Chris, aka “Speis” to those that know him well. He is Motion Lab’s newest Tech but certainly not new to the shop environment. He came to us with several years of industry experience and has a degree from an accredited Technical program at a local College. Following the last couple of years in a general repair facility, he knew it was time to step up to a challenging role like the one he now serves at Motion Lab. Most notably, he has been an advocate for shop organization, punctuality and procedural correctness. This is really a huge help with all of the activity that takes place around here. He really has a lot of skill to bring to the table.
In his spare time, he’s normally hanging out with his girlfriend or sitting behind the drum set making music. Like the rest of the Motion Lab crew, he is a fanatical car enthusiast. That’s pretty much a pre-requisite to be a part of our team!
